Anamnesis

Inspired by Art Therapy, Anamnesis, meaning the subject's history in psychology, is a photographic project divided into 12 stages. Miriam, the model, reveals to me, with modesty, a painful moment in her life. The technique of "double exposure," used in eleven of the twelve photos, conveys the intensity of the almost mystical emotions that Miriam experienced. Constructed in a chronological manner, Anamnesis questions and unsettles. The body twists, while the prominent, multiplied hands suffocate and crumple it. The narcissistic abuser exults until Miriam's spirit gradually detaches from him. Lighter and more harmonious moments then take place. Dance, a passion she had completely abandoned, becomes the symbol of her liberation.
